Objectives
- Raise awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship as an applicable competence in new and established businesses;
- Provide knowledge and techniques on how to develop a business model and a business plan for an innovative idea;
- Provide means and ways for the theoretical and practical analysis of internal and external environments to companies;
- Activate an entrepreneurial attitude in the student;
- Stimulate the understanding of the process of detection and analysis of business opportunities;
- Provide means for the analysis of the possibility and economic and financial feasibility of a business.
Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
The student should be able to:
- Embrace the entrepreneurial process and the importance of innovation;
- Know the various areas of management that are fundamental to creating and managing a company;
- Evaluate the entrepreneurial possibility of business ideas;
- Execute a business plan with the respective operational, marketing, strategic, economic and financial plans;
- Examine the entrepreneurial feasibility of a business;
- Understand that economic activity must be estimated by its impact on society, both individually and collectively.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The theoretical-practical classes are based on the presentation of the contents of the program and on the discussion of cases of organizations that fit into the Innovation & Differentiation Model 8P. In order to promote learning, audio-visual methods may also be used. The aim is to encourage students to participate actively in class, to develop their critical capacity and their skills for effective personal study.
ASSESSMENT METHODS
1. Continuous:
Frequency (without consultation) to be performed during the class period - (40%)
- Group work (maximum of 3 students) - (40%: 40% oral + 60% written)
- Active participation / attendance / punctuality / attitude in class - (20%).
The approval in this evaluation system requires a minimum grade of 10 points.
2. Final:
- Exam (without consultation) (100%)
