Law of Obligations II

Presentation

Along with the scientific-pedagogical dimension that is stressed in the first semester (The Law of Obligations I), a practical concern is also in mind.

The law of obligations is a very broad field. Even though we have set aside ¿Contracts in Special¿ (Title II of the Book II of the Civil Code), the topics included in the General Part of The Law of Obligations (Title I) are hardly dealt with in full detail.

Our concern is one of leaving behind no gaps.

Objectives

It`s intended that the students may know and manage the basic concepts of all the chapters of de General Part of the Law of obligations.

On the other hand, we seek to familiarize students with the rules of the main contracts and other important legislation outside the Civil Code, and this we do mainly by means of examples that may illustrate the different rules.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

Students are allowed to intervene during the lectures. Discussion classes are designed both to ensure their questions get answered and to analyse specific cases.

Evaluation: continuous evaluation. At least two written tests. During the semester, students may also choose to prepare written reports. Good, intensive class participation and written reports is also an evaluation element. For those who don't obtain approval, there is a written exam and an oral one.
