The Curricular unit of introduction to the study of law, aims to provide a formation in basic matters of thetheory of Law, the methodology of law and the philosophy of law. In its teaching, theoretical and practical,it seeks to develop and improve in the student the faculties of analysis, abstraction and realization thatare proper to legal reasoning in resolving cases with legal relevance.

Objectives

The objective of the Curricular unit is pursued through the treatment of themes that import a reflectionboth on the legal order considered in its entirety, as well as on the sources of the legal rules. Themethodological aspects related to the interpretation of the sources of law and the application of the legalrules are considered, and some elements are mentioned on the values and legitimation of the law.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

Presentation  of  theoretical  and  demonstration  with  real  practical  resolution  of  cases.  Encouraging  tehparticipation of students in reflection an d discussion of case studies presented. The module is assessedby two tests with 50% weighting in each test, or by final exam weghting 100%.If the student obtains a score of 8 or 9 in the written exam, he / she can take an oral exam.  :  students  will  be  encouraged  to  be  proactive  in  investigating  topics  ofGood  pedagogical  practicesinterest,  promoting  the  use  of  student-centered  methodologies  as  a  constructor  and  driver  of  theirlearning and development process. Create a favorable environment for research, training and collectiveconstruction of knowledge. Promote the pedagogical use of technologies and the internet.
