Presentation
The curricular unit Voz e Canto I is defined as a space for individual and group exploration of the potential of spoken and sung voice (Grade I), the learning and development of musical language in different genres (Grade I), as well as the practice and improvement in the utterance of texts (Grade I), thus constituting one of the structuring axes of the Dramatic Arts - Actor Training course.

Description of contents 1-Metaphorical system of the seven chakras:Work the connection between body and vocal emission from the chanting of Hindu mantras; voice focuses; vocalize emotions from specific parts of the body; 2-The relationship between breathing and the position of the larynx:The influence of physicality on breathing and vice versa: timbre effects.3- Vocal registers: falsetto as a record connector. 4-Jaw, tongue and lips: muscle relaxation versus hyperarticulation. 5- Plain chant, Popular songs.6- Polyphonic pieces (Grade I).7- Greek Choir. 8- Individual reading of poetic texts. 9- Approach to the text: context, phonetics, punctuation, movement, direction, words of value, subtext, utterance
Objectives
9- how to approach a text: context, formal analysis, subtext, utterance
1- Awareness of the body-breath-vocal emission connection;
2- The different positions of the larynx and effects on vocal emission;
3- Voice focuses
4- Vocal registers - from sung voice to spoken voice
5- articulation / diction
6- expressing emotions through the voice;
7- sing solo and group melodies (Grade I)
8- Interpret texts from different utterances and vice versa
Teaching methodologies and assessment
1.Expositive / demonstrative method. 2. Critical-reflective method based on the confluence of teacher and student experiences. 3. Promotion of the student's specific skills, establishing strategies aimed at short, medium and long term progress. 4.Value and encourage student involvement in all creative processes. 5.Construction of long-term plans and strategies based on the diagnosis of the qualities and difficulties inherent to each student and on the evolution that he / she will carry out throughout the semester. Assessment: Attendance 30% + Practical assessment 50% + Written work 20%
