Objectives
Synthesis of Portuguese architecture. Issues and works inventory in order to understand the specificity of the process of Portuguese architecture and their relationships within the international context. Capability to express this synthesis through text and drawing. The student will be guided through an analysis that allows for recognition of a critical and informed vision of a "national architecture" through the exercise of critical reflection and thematic approaches to counteract mere historicist logic. The student should be able to apply that knowledge in contextualizing specific examples, and also within the framework of justifying architectural practice(s).
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The subject of History of Portuguese Architecture aims at exposing the contents of the program through lectures supported by audiovisual media to illustrate the subjects through lessons and practices, allowing for participation and debate with the students.CRITERIA: Pratical work: 30%; Presentation and Debate: 30%; Test: 30%; Assiduity, Participation and Punctuality - 10%.
