Syllabus

The consolidation of the operational characteristics and skills of sketch, draft and study (detail); outer and inner contour; the absence of the line: the direct stain and tonal values; instruments and props, dry media and liquid media; representation systems: systems and non systems; conical perspective; the axonometrias, plans sections and elevations, the infographics; atmospheric perspectives; structural analysis of volume: planar, modular and tonal approaches; hatching and cross hatching; constructed objects and organic objects; figure drawing: statue, prints, epidemiology, skeleton and live models; space: still life scene, interior space and exterior space; natural space versus urban space.

The graphic diary, travel diary and logbook; applying different strategies and systems of representation on three routes: Interior Route, Urban Route and Rural Route; suitability of tools, techniques and media according to drawing strategies.

Objectives

The course Drawing 1.2, by promoting the observation of reality, its representation and the reflection on the images produced, aims to: develop observation and perceptual acuity for the different ways of drawing; promote dexterity in handling different tools and drawing techniques; create conditions for the student to take the act of drawing and designing with knowledge, agility and security, developing skills of understanding, mastery and ability to select the different ways of drawing depending on the goals outlined; sensitize students to the importance of the heritage of drawing and architecture; know, master and learn to apply the basic terminology of drawing.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

The syllabus will be developed according to a theorethical and practical class.

The lectures are intended to provide the materials, topics, examples and the theoretical foundations of practical exercises to develop in each phase of work and study.

Worksheets will be provided defining the theoretical and practical framework of each phase, as well as the regime of exercises and parameters of evaluation and critique.

The exercises the main reference, from which they promotes critical reflection on the students work and that of their collegues.

The focus is the contact between the teacher and student.

Evaluation without final exam, based on individual assignments; continuous evaluation, implying the systematic presence of the students in all the classes and it is considered as a limit to obtain attendance at least 75% of the classes given.
