Syllabus
This curricular unit aims to develop students 'physical abilities, based on the development of students' creative capacities, through elementary exercises of awareness of the limits and borders of the human body. All the basic technical elements - trunk work, upper and lower limb work, auxiliary and transition steps, fall, twists and turns - will be studied at their elementary level. It seeks to stimulate individual creativity by applying it to exploration and structured improvisation of movement. Exercising work methodologies leading to a simple choreographic composition, applying different composition variants, such as notions of rhythm, dynamics, contact and spatialization.

Objectives
Students are expected to be able to: 1- Have a body awareness, coordination, limits and borders of their own body; 2 - Reproduce, by demonstration, sequences danced in a technical context; 3 - Cooperate with colleagues in group tasks; 4 - Interact with the teacher by actively participating in the tasks. 5 - To produce choreographic material from the accomplishment of diverse tasks, appealing to different stimuli and resources with the objective to create a solo. 6 - Develop a critical reflection.
Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
The student gains an elemental body awareness, as well as develops agility, physical dexterity and strength that will underlie his work as an actor. Being the work of the actor based on three fundamental points: body, voice and imagination, the student will be able to create and perform small choreographic sequences, as well as being aware of the presence of his body in the scene.
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching is practical, fostering the autonomy of each student, through individual exercises and collaborative group learning: (A) technical and expressive practical drills. (B) laboratory classes of experimentation and application of concepts. The evaluation is distributed on a face-to-face basis and presupposes a continuous evaluation of the students' performance, with a view to presenting a small solo created by the student, taking into account the following parameters: (A) Attendance, quality participation in the class and fulfillment of the proposed tasks; (B) Application in practical context of the techniques developed; (C) Interpretation; (D) Critical analysis of a dance performance (theoretical work). Each semester aims to contribute to the quality of the technical-expressive performance of the student and also implies their capacity for self-evaluation.
