Syllabus

1. Notions of Technical Drawing.

2. Theory of Projections.

3. Cuts and Sections.

4. Dimensions.

5. Tolerances and Adjustments.

6. Geometric Tolerances.

7. Surface States.

8. Computer aided drawing (AutoCAD).

Objectives

Understanding Technical Drawing as a "professional language" associated with the conception, execution and interpretation of design drawings.

Applying rules of graphic representation used in Engineering - the Technical Drawing.

Developing the ability to identify and define geometric shapes in three dimensions and their representation in the plane.

To train students from the basic use of CAD technologies (computer aided design), namely through the AutoCAD software.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

TEACHING METHODOLOGIES: The teaching methodologies were defined based on the objectives of the Curricular Unit. There will be different kinds of sessions: some sessions are intended for gradual explanation of the matter, supported by practical examples; in others, the students will solve practical exercises with the help of the teacher. In a significant number of sessions, the work will be performed using the AutoCAD software. In addition to the practical assignments requested, students are encouraged to develop outside-class work.

Despite the established (presential) working mode, a transition (at any time) to a remote regime was foreseen, if necessary in the context of COVID19.

EVALUATION: Continuous assessment - test (70%) and individual practical work (30%). Assessment by exam: written test (100%).
