CU in the area of Management, which aims to address basic Human Resources issues. It is essential for anyone who will work in the area of Management and engineering. The approach is practical, which is favorable to the work context. This UC is taught with application to the area of ¿¿Aerospace Engineering.

Distance learning content:

Some contents may be taught remotely, on dates to be informed in due course.


1:Picture the historical origin of the Human Resources function and fit it in the organizational environemt.

1.1:Define Human Resources Management and highlight the main goals / challenges.

1.2:Describe the various activities / roles / responsibilities that may be related to the Human Resources function.

2:Understand and describe the main steps of a plan for functions evaluation within Human Resources.

3:Plan to justify the main stages of performance assessment.

4:Distinguishing between selection and recruitment, and identify the key steps of both processes.

5:Understand the concept of career.

5.1:Plan and describe the main stages of a career management plan.

6:Distinguish between the various elements of a reward system.

6.1:Plan a reward system.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

The classes are composed of a theoretical part, complemented by solving exercises and case studies. Students are encouraged to participate in the discussion of various topics and practical examples are privileged applied to the labor market.

 The evaluation method is continuous, which means that each student will be evaluated based on four elements:

  • Test (without consultation) (40%) 
  • Case study (in group and without consultation) (20%: 40% oral + 60% written) 
  • Work (25%: 40% oral + 60% written) 
  • Participation during class (15%)


Pedagogical innovation practices:

Pedagogical innovation practices are considered, within the scope of this CU, discussions oriented to real cases, applied to the academic area of students. These discussions are continuous and are applied after the theoretical presentation of each theme. Students are also encouraged to do work based on a real context.
