Syllabus

1. From the Performance concept to performance evaluation in organizations: Historical and Conceptual Evolution.

1.1. From Conceptualization to the Performance Evaluation Process in Organizations

2. Performance evaluation and perceptions: clues to a better understanding of the process, with individual organizational implications

3. Performance Evaluation and HRM (link to different activities of HRM)

4. Performance Evaluation and Communication: barriers and catalysts (the importance of emotional intelligence)

5. Performance Evaluation and Skills: two sides of the same coin?

6. From Some Models to Practice: Considerations for Performance Evaluation in a business context (our country and its idiosyncrasies)

7. Implementation of an integrated plan for Performance Evaluation (in conjunction with HRM)

Objectives

- To learn some concepts and theories underlying themes of the unit.

- Identify and mobilize performance evaluation techniques.

- To learn the importance of evaluation in the process of self-regulation of Organizations.

- Raising awareness of the task to plan, manage, coordinate, monitor and motivate people with their own values, interests, skills and motivations, aiming the development of individual skills and the satisfaction of organizational objectives.

- Enable students of technical expertise for the design and implementation of an effective process for assessing performance

Teaching methodologies and assessment

The classes are based on the exposure of the contents of the program. The theoretical explanations are emphasized with the use of examples in order to stimulate interest and research by students.

 

Active participation in class - 20%

Resolution of a practical exercise - 20%

1 Work Research and Discussion of the same (40% + 20%)
