Hygiene, Health and Safety in the Workplace

Any organization must offer all the necessary security for its employees, so that they can perform their functions without any kind of damage to their health. Promoting active care is a necessity. With this in mind, the concept of hygiene factors was created to ensure health and safety at work, which aims to provide a safer environment for workers in various aspects. Occupational safety is a term basically related to accident prevention. Hygiene at work will be related not only to the personal hygiene of employees, such as: washing hands well, keeping the workplace clean, etc. but also with occupational diseases, ie prevention of environmental risks that can lead to occupational diseases.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

Classes are theoretical-practical, where theoretical exposition is interconnected with tools such as brainstorming in order to apply the practice associated with the concepts transmitted. The assessment is continuous and consists of 3 elements:

1st assessment test with 30% weighting

2nd assessment test with 30% weighting

Assessment in class by carrying out practical cases, evaluating from 1 to 5 the work developed by the student, as well as the effort and commitment in carrying out each practical case, with a weighting of 40%. An alternative to continuous assessment consists of a recourse exam, which will cover all the material taught throughout the semester (to have access to this type of assessment, students must submit to at least one element of continuous assessment
