Label and packaging.

Understand the importance of packaging and a label as a communication and marketing support for a product. Color, typography, legibility, materials and finishes are fundamental for the effectiveness of information and function.

Syllabus

Label and packaging.

 

Objectives

- The importance of packaging and labeling as a communication support in the marketing of a product.

- The importance of typography, image, color, graphic composition and materials

to enhance the product, the brand and its communication with the consumer.

- The importance of pregnancy (strong print, visual memory).

- Knowledge of packaging production technique.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

Theoretical classes for exposition of the subject, case study and analysis of similar projects carried out in previous years. Practical classes that support and consolidate theoretical knowledge; individual monitoring of student work; assessment classes and final work discussion; work exhibition classes by students; field trips; reading recommended bibliography.

Creativity; feasibility of proposed solutions; Communication capacity; autonomy; experimentation and commitment. The capacity for analysis, strategy and work method will also be evaluated. Attendance and participation in at least 70% of classes. Continuous evaluation. The last element of assessment is mandatory on 17-01-2022.

 

Continuous assessment divided into five parts:

1. Christmas card to represent the university: 15%

2. Label and packaging for wine or olive oil bottle: 35%

3. Redesign of milk pack: 25%

4. Weekly survey (designers): 15%

5. Participation and commitment: 10%
