Entrance Conditions

The following may apply for the Master's Degree:
a) People who hold a B.A. or equivalent degree;
b) People who hold a foreign academic degree awarded after a 1st study cycle organized according to the Bologna Process by a member state of that process;
c) People who hold a foreign academic degree acknowledged as a degree satisfying the objectives of the graduate degree by the due body;
d) People who have a school, scientific or professional curriculum acknowledged by the due body of ULHT certifying the capacity to obtain this study cycle.

Have completed a total of 120 ECTS

Objectives

The objectives revolve around the following theoretical and practical skills:
- have knowledge and methods that form the basis for developing research projects or interventions in the various fields of Clinical Psychology;
- knowing how to apply that knowledge in broad contexts, directly or indirectly related to the area of Clinical Psychology and Health;
- know how to use knowledge, make decisions and propose alternative solutions to complex issues, reflecting on the implications and ethical and social responsibilities that result from various proposed solutions;
- The ability to communicate with experts from other areas and the general public in a meaningful, clear and accurate, showing mastery of the concepts and fundamental techniques of the area of Clinical Psychology and Health;
- being able to develop skills that allow for learning and updating knowledge throughout life.

Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired

Analyze and critically evaluate literature in the fields of Clinical Psychology and Health;
Implement and develop research projects in areas of Clinical Psychology and Health, independently or in teams;
Understand the factors and biopsychosocial education that influence health and disease;
Identify and recognize the interactions between biological and psychological stress factors and health conditions / illness;
Identify stressors and their impact on the development of individuals;
Developing an ecosystemic and developmental approach to mental health problems, identifying the environmental and social factors of risk / resilience during the life cycle;
Know the terms of pharmacological intervention in mental health issues;
Implement programs of psycho-educational intervention with individuals and groups for the acquisition of habits
and behaviors that promote health;
Plan and manage policy interventions to promote community and family health at different stages of their life
cycle;
Being able to develop modalities for therapeutic intervention to optimize the interactions in marriage and family
system in order to avoid dissociation and disruption of operation, giving support to parenting;
Using methods and tools best suited to psychological and neuropsychological assessment in clinical intervention
with children / adolescents or the elderly;
Identify and implement programs and learn techniques of cognitive-behavioral intervention in different clinical
situations;
Outline proposals suitable training and psychotherapy to children and adolescents with delays of evolution;
Outline proposals for therapeutic intervention appropriate to different types of psychopathological disturbances of
the child / adolescent;
Use appropriate methodologies to the process of implementing programs for prevention and intervention in the
area of behavioral addiction;
Develop activities related to monitoring processes of parents of children with delayed disease progression and
psychopathological disturbances;
Provide advice and guidance to educators and teachers of children and adolescents with psychopathological
disorders, especially in cases of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder;
Collaborate on activities and projects promoting health in school settings and to-school;
Leverage resources and develop training methods to support health in old age;
Knowing the biological and psychological processes that accompany aging;
Diagnose and intervene in situations of psychopathology associated with aging;
Develop methods of psychotherapeutic intervention with the elderly;
Recognize the stressors associated with the host institution for the elderly;
Assess the organizational quality of geriatric institutions in order to implement changes to ensure optimum conditions of life and mental health of the elderly.
