Objectives

It is a curricular unit in which one tries to study how technically mediated connections (and consequent disconnections) are opening up possibilities or even to configure new and / or alternative modes and models of action, whose characterization and theoretical descriptions place it on the margins of the normative-institutional and communicational systems of modernity.

Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired

Activism and so-called netativism will thus be studied from their political possibilities, but also as visible manifestations of the processes of social and cultural innovation that are ongoing, concomitant (and, in many cases, conflicting) with the processes of globalization.

Teaching methodologies and assessment

The teaching methodologies will be essentially expositive, aiming to stimulate the debate and the critical reading of the works and the authors of reference. It is intended that students gain autonomy of reflective production and analytical ability. The evaluation of the unit will be done through the individual preparation of an essay or article of research and / or development of the concepts presented in the unit, preferably applied to the future development of a research project, which will constitute the final evaluation element.
