Pedro Aires Moreira Montenegro Marques e Almeida
Pedro Montenegro finished his MSc. in Civil Engineering at FEUP, with a specialization in Structures, in February 2008 and started working immediately in a consulting engineering firm, Adão da Fonseca, Engenheiros Consultores Lda (AdF). In this company, Pedro completed his internship, becoming a member of the Portuguese Order of the Engineer. From September 2008 to February 2010 he also served as an assistant professor in FEUP, teaching three different subjects related to structural mechanics.
In January 2010, Pedro Montenegro embraced a new challenge at his home University by starting the PhD in railway engineering. During the PhD he made an internship in Tokyo, Japan, to meet experts in railway engineering to enhance his knowledge in this field. Pedro became a doctor in Civil Engineering in March 2015 and returned to AdF to work as a structural engineer, where he has been since. During 2015 Pedro also developed a post-doc project in FEUP in a part time contract.
