Qualification requirements and regulations

Candidates should have completed secondary school or equivalent qualification. Under current legislation any course of secondary education is qualification enough to compete.

The applicant must submit proof of completion of the national survey of the discipline that the establishment has taken as proof of admission to the course they want to apply and meet the minimum score of 95 points.

Objectives

The 1st cycle of studies (undergraduate) in Economics is a degree of broadband, with a duration of three years, which aims to train economists with an excellent capacity for integration into the labor market, significantly increasing the potential for finding employment.
Given the multiplicity of areas in which the economist acts professionally, the course units (CU) that comprise the curriculum of the degree are divided into several areas of knowledge such as management, accounting and taxation, in addition, to the specific economy courses, which are the core of the Program.
The curriculum is also composed of a set of optional CU that student can choose from a wide range offered annually by the University, which give students a strong intervention in their own curriculum, giving the possibility to deepen knowledge in areas of particular interest.

Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired

The program elects as its essential purposes the development of the following skills: autonomy in knowledge acquisition and skill-based capacity for critical analysis, freedom of thought based on scientific evidence, ethical and socially justifiable, collection, selection, interpretation and use of information, ability to formulate and solve problems technically and scientifically structured, ability to present and communicate information, ideas, problems and solutions to the public addressedand use of advanced technological equipment; permanent intellectual curiosity that leads them to think the training not as a process that ends with the acquisition of a degree but spread out in time, the result of dynamic processes and competitive that subject and define modern societies.

Further Studies

The knowledge acquired through this Degree Program promote effective preparation for a variety of postgraduate studies (2nd cycle), including the Masters courses of the facultu of Economy and management of ULP: Management and Tourism Management.
